Description
By far the largest blooms from any bulb!
If you're looking for big blooms, there's no bulb that does it better than the Globemaster Allium. Formed from close to 1,500 star-shaped flowers, these massive globes are 10" across! Strong, thick stems reach up to 3' with little fuss on your part, and stand tall even in stormy weather. In early to midsummer, they're topped with the fluffy, purple-violet flower heads that will be the talk of the neighbourhood for the next four weeks.

Breck's Wow! collection includes five incredible Globemaster Alliums. You can use them to attract bees and butterflies to a mixed border, and shake up the display with their distinctive height and flower form. Unlike typical alliums, which bloom after the leaves have already grown and wilted, Globemaster's foliage stays shiny and green throughout the bloom cycle, making it a great houseplant, too. As cut flowers, the giant blooms will last in an arrangement for up to two weeks! Or you could use them in dried bouquets—crafty gardeners have even spray-painted the flower heads in metallic hues as a chic, home-grown decoration. In your border or flower beds-Globemaster's one-of-a-kind blooms bring irresistible charm wherever they grow. Pollinator Friendly.

A Long Journey, An Incredible Reward
In 1960, Jan Bijl crossed Alliums Christophii and Macleanii, with help from a local bee colony. By 1964 the plant that would become Globemaster had caught his eye with its gorgeous leaves and flower shape. He began the process of cultivation, which was painstaking because of its sterile blooms. It took him 20 years to build his stock of this unique allium, and if you add it to your garden, you'll be glad he did.
