Celebrate the warmer weather with the tall and appealing Yellow Foxtail Lily. Standing at 4 to 5 feet tall and featuring feathery plumes with hundreds of star-shaped yellow flowers that turn orange as they mature, this Dutch-sourced plant will look right at home in borders around your landscape. With bluish-green leaves and bright blooms, the Foxtail lily, also known as 'desert candle', is sure to add a touch of exotic elegance to your landscape.

The Foxtail lily (eremurus stenophyllus) flourishes in climate zones 5 to 8, and requires full sun. Plant the bulbs in well-drained soil, 6 inches deep and approximately 24 inches apart. They tolerate clay soil, loamy soil and sandy soil as well. Plant your bulbs in the autumn and they will bloom in the early to midsummer. Yellow Foxtail lily makes beautiful long lasting fresh or dried flower arrangements.

Eremurus stenophyllus makes a welcome addition to areas of landscape with sloping ground. Plant your bulbs in groups of 12 or more to add a dramatic touch of colour to your property or add them to rock gardens for a touch of variety. These attractive flowers also look great on the corner of a lawn to develop a new flower bed. Bring in the summer season with the attractive Yellow Foxtail lily.
