Classic Poet Daffodils grace any setting, indoors or out, with timeless elegance and a provocatively rich aroma. These graceful flowers bloom in late spring, when their snow white petals open to reveal unique and appealing centres: tiny yellow cups with vivid green throats and bright, red-orange halos. Also known as pheasant-eye daffodils because of their unusual colouration, these charming, fanciful flowers add a dreamy touch of romance wherever they bloom.
Poet daffodil (Narcissus poeticus recurvus) bulbs should be planted in the fall, 6 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches apart. They thrive in a variety of soil types in zones 3 to 8, in full sun to part shade. They are one of a handful of late-blooming daffodil varieties that flourish in warmer climates.
Both rabbit and deer resistant, Poet daffodils are an excellent choice for country gardens, naturalized areas and suburban settings; they are especially picturesque when placed amongst reeds and short grasses alongside streams or gazing into ponds or fountains. Equally at home in city settings, these appealing, versatile flowers do well in pots and planters and their colour and fragrance make them a superb choice for cut arrangements. They may also be forced indoors for a winter bloom. Choose graceful, elegant Poet daffodils and welcome warmth and enchantment to your home.
