Create an elegant floral display in your yard with the Hakuun Tulip. These stunning beauties remain a pure, unblemished white throughout their bloom. In fact, their name, 'Hakuun', is Japanese for 'white snow'. With classic cup shaped blooms standing proud atop 20 to 22 inch stems, these flowers make a stately addition to cutting gardens, formal gardens and solid colour borders. As exceptional perennials, you'll get to enjoy these bountiful blooms each year in mid spring.

This Darwin hybrid tulip's bulbs (Tulipa darwinhybrid 'Hakuun') flourish in climate hardiness zones 3 to 8. Unlike many tulip varieties, these do well in Southern climates. Plant your tulips in the fall. Not fussy, they will tolerate clay, loamy and sandy soil, as long as it's well drained. These Dutch-sourced hybrid tulips prefer to be placed 6 inches deep and approximately 3 to 6 inches apart in an area that receives full sun to partial shade.

For a formal look, feature Hakuun tulips in borders and along walkways or plant them in rows in front of iris or Asiatic lilies. For a casual style, plant these lovely mid spring blooming perennials with other spring bulbs including daffodils, crocuses and bluebells to add an impressive variety of colour to your yard. Add the beautiful Hakuun tulip to your landscape and embrace the elegance of these lovely flowers.

Description
The first Darwinhybrid tulip to open white and stay white, you can count on its timeless beauty to return for many years to come.
Strong stems won't bend, and an exceptional heat tolerance makes this variety much more suitable for Southern climates than most tulips.
