For each offer ordered, get 8As the songs of chirping birds fill the sky, watch your garden take flight with the Green Wave Parrot Tulip. At first, the lovely green buds open to reveal green petals. Then, after two or three days, the petals transform into a soft rosy-pink colour that's surrounded by bright, emerald-green arms. These green parrot tulip plants emerge in mid to late spring, when the weather really begins to warm.
To enjoy these curly, cup-shaped flowers in your garden, select a sunny or semi-shaded area of well drained clay, sandy or loamy soil. Bury the green parrot tulip bulbs about 3 inches deep and 3 to 6 inches apart, and water regularly during the off-season. When they fully emerge, they'll be about 20 to 24 inches tall. Green Wave Parrot Tulips flourish in a hardiness zone between 3 and 8. As the mercury climbs and the flowers fade, prune them away and start counting down the days until they burst forth again.
For a long-lasting garden that seems fresh and new every week, try planting these transitional flowers alongside earlier-blooming puschkinias or irises. The thick, waxy petals of green parrot tulips have a long lifespan and do very well in a vase, so it's easy to add the colour and fragrance of fresh flowers to your home. Add these beauties to your garden and watch it soar.
