Welcome autumn's crisp weather with Fall White Crocus flowers. Snowy white blooms featuring sunny yellow throats add a welcome touch of colour to your fall landscape. Large chalice-shaped blooms adorn 6-inch tall stems, making a charming presentation. Sword shaped foliage appears in the spring, separate from the flowers.
Plant your Dutch-sourced crocus (Crocus zonatus 'albus') bulbs in the fall, 2 to 3 inches deep and approximately 3 to 4 inches apart. Fall crocus bulbs require well-drained soil, but they will also tolerate clay, loamy and sandy soil. Fall crocuses are versatile and will thrive in full sun to full shade. These white autumn crocus flowers flourish in climate hardiness zones 4 to 9. Since this perennial crocus naturalizes, the plants will spread and come back each year to brighten your landscape.
Plant Fall White crocus flowers in clusters for a well-defined focal point or place them underneath deciduous trees and shrubs. Crocuses look stunning when planted with hardy companions like creeping thyme, astilbe, or foam flower. Mingle them with similar-looking colchicum in shades of violet and pink for a delightful display. These lovely perennials make a welcome addition to flower beds, lawn areas and rock gardens. Say hello to the new season with white autumn crocus.
