True blue flowers are a treat for gardeners, and the Donard Variety Sea Holly bulb provides a striking, clean blue blossom. Its tall, 12-24 inch height and thistle like shape add drama to your landscape. Not only are the petals gorgeous, but the unique silver veined foliage turns white in the summer, making these a stunning display in your yard or in a vase.

These Dutch Eryngium zabelii bulbs thrive in full sun to partial shade and will bloom from midsummer through early fall. The Donard variety sea holly is very heat tolerant and is drought resistant, making it a great option in low water landscapes. Hardy in zones 3 to 8, these bulbs do best in well-drained, poor soil. Plant them about 4 inches deep and 18-24 inches apart.

The stunning blooms of the sea holly make this bulb a great addition to any landscape. Each branch of the Donard variety sea holly produces more than 100 flowers, making this a great plant for borders, fence lines or woodland gardens. Butterflies love the blossoms, and the seed heads will attract birds in the fall. These sturdy blooms are also beautiful when cut and added to a bouquet or dried arrangement. Introduce sea holly to your landscape for long lasting true blue blooms.

Description
Cut-flower stars—fresh or dried!

Long-lasting, metallic-blue flower heads are surrounded by a spiky skirt of vibrant purple bracts. Silvery, veined foliage transforms to white in the summer, and is complemented by the unique blooms from midsummer to fall. Stems can be cut back after flowering, but many gardeners choose to leave the attractive seed heads untouched. A favourite among butterflies, sea holly is also popular in bouquets and dried arrangements. Highly tolerant of heat and resistant to drought. Eryngium x zabelii
