Unwind with the Cool Shades Dutch Iris Mixture. This tranquil collection includes single and bicoloured irises in shades of white, violet and blue. Trios of small, gently curved standards rise up amidst a trinity of large, delicately ruffled falls. The falls are accented with a bright yellow stripe down each petal's centre, which perfectly complements these irises's hushed hues. This Iris hollandica mix blooms in late spring and continues to flower through early summer.
Irises love to sunbathe and will thrive when exposed to full sunlight for at least half the day. They flourish in their own bed where they will receive little to no shade from other plants, as well as plenty of water. Plant your iris bulbs in the fall, about 4 inches deep and 3 to 4 inches apart in well-drained clay, loamy or sandy soil. This Dutch iris mix is hardy in zones 5 though 9 and is deer resistant.
Consider showing off this mixture's colour range by planting these irises in large, dense groups. Their lavish blooms will attract butterflies and hummingbirds to your yard. These stunning 20- to 24-inch tall irises are also an excellent addition to spring flower bouquets and will look wonderful when paired with pastel daffodils or cool-coloured tulips. Soothe your garden and your soul with the Cool Shades Dutch Iris mixture.
