Flowering in early to mid spring, Blue Jacket Hyacinths deliver a beautiful punch of vibrant colour with their large flower heads covered in brilliant, densely spaced porcelain blue star-shaped florets. Or, if you can't wait for winter's end, these blue hyacinth bulbs can also be forced to bloom indoors—their heavenly scent is only exceeded by their beauty, and these attributes together make Blue Jacket hyacinths a multisensory floral experience that won't soon be forgotten.
Planted outside in the ground, hyacinth perennial bulbs require minimal care and will bloom annually. They are hardy in zones 4 to 8 and are naturally deer resistant. Blue hyacinth bulbs should be planted in the fall, about six inches deep and 4 to 6 inches apart in well-drained loamy, clay or sandy soil. The plants, which grow well in both full sun and partial shade, generally reach a height of 8 to 10 inches.
Blue Jacket hyacinths are a perennial favorite whose devastatingly bright blue flowers are unmatched, especially in early spring. Consider adding blue hyacinth bulbs to a garden border for colour variety, or in conjunction with any other of our fine Dutch bulbs, including tulips or daffodils, for truly beautiful arrangements you can enjoy inside as well as outside.
