Unique and easy to grow, the Altruist Daffodil is exceptionally beautiful and a distinctive addition to your garden. This flower's charming dark red corona is surrounded by rich, copper coloured petals for a striking display. Bold as brass, these daffodils flower splendidly in mid spring with little urging.

Daffodil bulbs should be planted in the fall, in well-drained clay, loamy or sandy soil. Plant your Altruist daffodil bulbs 6 inches deep and 4 to 6 inches apart in partial shade to full sun. This unusually charming flower thrives in zones 3 to 8 and grows 16 to 18 inches tall, with a single 4-inch bloom adorning each stem.

Create a fabulous display by planting Altruist daffodil in masses, or interspersing them amongst other spring bloomers. Create a striking effect by placing them adjacent to a group of dark red flowers, thereby emphasizing their own exquisite dark red centres. Add interest to your border by planting these daffodils behind smaller spring flowers.

Being perennials, daffodils flower each year, therefore making them ideal for naturalized areas. The Altruist daffodil is equally at home in a formal garden. Well-suited to cutting gardens and containers, its rich colours add character and charm to spring bouquets. Add a unique metallic hue to your spring garden with this delightfully different daffodil.

Description
A daffodil of distinct colour.
Altruist boasts a small, dark red cup surrounded by exquisite roughed petals in a copper hue. The solitary 4" blooms of this showy daffodil are perfect for naturalized areas or cutting gardens. Also adds interest to cut-flower bouquets. Plant these beauties with late-flowering tulips and early roses. Or combine them with bleeding hearts, Euphorbia or lady's mantle to create a striking display unique in its diversity of colours and forms.
