Many gardeners look forward to the fall for the chance to choose new varieties of spring-flowering bulbs. By planting tulips, daffodils and crocuses in various colour combinations in several areas around your garden, you can welcome spring with beautiful bouquets of cut flowers. For flowers all summer long, you can take advantage of spring planting time to plant summer-flowering bulb collections, from tall, stately Asiatic and Oriental lilies to gigantic dinner-plate dahlias to multiflorous gladioli and irises.
If your garden needs a cluster or two of time-tested perennials such as peonies, astilbes, geraniums or asters, consider a garden collection to get varieties that offer different colours, heights, spreads and bloom times rather than planting a single variety. To prevent a garden from becoming a hodge-podge of colour, gardeners often intersperse foliage plants among the flowers. The beautiful foliage of plants such as hostas, ferns and caladiums, also available in garden collections, serve to punctuate the beauty of the flowers around them, and many of these foliage plants thrive in shade.
The best thing about our Dutch-sourced garden collections is that we carefully coordinate complementary varieties, so you only need to select the planting area. Choose which bulb collections are best for your garden by considering your hardiness zones, sun exposure, colours and bloom time. You'll find collections suited for every type of garden, from naturalizing woodland flowers to stately, elegant formal garden selections. Fragrant collections offer sweets scents and gorgeous blooms, while shade-loving or drought tolerant collections can fill in problem areas. Find a collection to create a beautiful border or choose one designed for use a ground cover to fill large areas. Create your perfect garden with a bulb collection.

Gardeners' FavouritePeony-Flowering Tulip CollectionSo Much like Peonies, You'll do a Double Take! For decades, tulip breeders have been working to perfect double-flowered tulips, and the results have been astonishing. Thanks to our relationships with top growers, we are now able to bring the best double tulips in the world to Breck's customers. The five varieties in our new Peony-Flowering Tulip Collection will add interest and dimension to your tulip beds that may have been missing until now. These double-flowered tulips may look like peonies, but we assure you, they're tulips through and through! Blooming among your other mid-spring bulbs, their petal-filled blooms will last longer than single-flowering varieties, as long as they are planted in an area protected from harsh winds. As a cut flower, these tulips are extraordinary—fragrant and full, with enough colour and substance for weeks of beautiful bouquets. Double-flowering tulips are so packed with petals, it's easy to mistake them for other blooms—especially peonies. We've gathered five of our most peony-like tulips into one incredible new collection, guaranteed to impress (and maybe even confuse) visitors to your garden. This collection includes 8 each of the following varieties: Abba Tulip: Roll out a fragrant re carpet! Eye-catching, bright red blooms provide a traditional tulip colour in a surprising double form. Besides the large main flower, this variety often produces additional smaller blooms. Height: 14-16''. Monte Orange Tulip: Gorgeous tulip bears twice the amount of petals as other double varieties, and expands to reach an astonishing 6" across when in full bloom. The lush orange colour, sturdy upright stems and enticing aroma make Monte Orange® a must-have for cutting gardens and borders. Height: 16-18" Monsella Tulip: Monsella's unique double form is almost as intriguing as its dramatic colour combination! Canary yellow blooms look hand painted with rich red streaks and open to a full 6" across. Get ready for compliments! Height: 12-16" Foxtrot Tulip: Possibly the most peony-like of all, blooms start out white and mature to varying shades of pink. Slightly ruffled edges on the petals add to the illusion. Flowers do not smell like peonies, but are wonderfully fragrant. Height: 14-16". Royal Acres Tulip: Royal purple outer petals are slightly frosted and open like a treasure box to reveal layers upon layers of petals. Planted en masse, they're a spectacular sight. Also great for front borders and containers, where their slightly shorter stems will be an asset. Height: 14-16".more40 for
